Kick off your new year in Belize with a hot & steamy affair! ANONYMITY #Romance #NewRelease #ASMSG

Who's ready for a good time? I know I am. After a somewhat exhausting and challenging past year, I'm ready to leave it all behind and start fresh. I'm not the only one…Alyssa McNeil is tired of playing by the rules and never coming out the winner. Can you relate to that at all? Sometimes all we can do is hit the reset button, figure out what we really want for ourselves, and dive after it even if it means catapulting out of our comfort zones.

My new contemporary romance release, Anonymity, explores those feelings of restlessness that we all get from time-to-time, but especially around the new year when we tend to reevaluate where we are compared to where we want to be.

I wrote some tough books in 2013--Free Fall (memoir) and Reckless Endangerment (human trafficking)--and welcomed writing a fun, adventurous, sexy romance that made me smile and laugh out loud all the way to the last page. It felt like a much needed release and a fresh beginning for 2014! Having more fun is one of my goals this year. As Jimmy Buffet says, "Fun is about the best habit there is."

Here's a blurb followed by a sexy excerpt:
New year; new beginnings. Alyssa McNeil is on a mission of breaking free of her comfort zone, reinventing herself, and forgetting the fact that her ex is getting married on New Year's Eve. She's in Belize for a week of sun, fun, adventure, and flirtation. Meeting Luke is an unexpected bonus…falling in love with him, though, simply isn't part of the plan.

Luke Picket is more than happy to go along with her idea of a no strings, uncomplicated weeklong fling. He embraces his bachelor lifestyle and can't see that changing any time soon. But when they find themselves trekking through the jungle and facing turbulent seas together, his hard heart starts to soften.

But they'd agreed on anonymity, on a first-name-only-no-strings love affair, and neither wants to ruin the moment with unwanted declarations. Old beliefs are challenged. Doubts questioned. Will they stick to their deal and go their separate ways when the week is over? Or will the new year bring them a new attitude about love?

Adult Content Excerpt (Yeah, that means sex on the beach.):
He enjoyed teasing her and seeing nervousness battle with boldness. The contradiction fascinated him. He leaned back in his chair and enjoyed his view. Extending his vacation had been the best decision he'd ever made. He hadn't felt this relaxed with anyone in years, not even his family with all of their expectations and concern. Sighing, he watched the torchlight reflect in her eyes.
"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?" he asked after a long silence.
"The Four Seasons on Fiji...you know the place with the cabanas out over the water? I'd love to go there." She leaned back while the waitress poured them each a glass of wine. "What about you?"
"South Africa on a photo safari."
"Oh, if only we had all the time and the money in the world to indulge our fantasies..." Her eyes darkened at the word 'fantasies'.
He shifted in his seat, suddenly feeling like a teenage boy on his first date. Why did everything she say sound like sexual innuendo to him?
"Time is what you make of it and there's always enough money for your priorities." He tapped his fingers on the table, his gaze steady on hers. "It's hard not asking more about you. There's so much I'd like to know."
"I'm a woman of mystery."
"Well-played. I'm officially intrigued." He toasted her with his glass.
"I like this, it's simple. No pressure."
"You're an easy person to be with, woman of mystery and all. Your ex must be an idiot."
"He's a certifiable moron." She waved a finger at him. "That borders on too personal."
"You'll have to punish me later."
"Are you sure you'll be able to handle it?"
"I can't wait to find out." Damn, he enjoyed flirting with her. The blush on her face warred with the dare in her eyes. He laughed and drank more wine. This is what vacations were meant to be, he felt certain of it.
They ate dinner, discussing topics like global warming, the health of the oceans, and favorite rock bands. It was the best date he'd ever had. Both kept to their promise of zero personal revelations. No talk about work, no trying to impress one another.
One bottle of wine later, dinner ended and possibility stirred between them. All of their flirtation hung in the air as they walked back onto the beach in silence.
He hardened at the slightest physical contact; doubtful he'd be able to be a gentleman much longer. Her body was made for a man's hands with curves he ached to touch. She radiated heat that burned through the clothes separating their bodies as they walked side-by-side down along the water's edge. Shoes dangled from their fingertips as they allowed warm waves to caress their ankles.
Screw it. He only had six more days before returning to his tidy well-constructed life. He stopped, pulled her against him, lifted her up and kissed her.
Hand at the nape of her neck, he pulled back a fraction to look into her eyes. "Are you sure you want this, that you want me? Tell me now before I let myself go."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, eyes bright with desire. "I've never been as sure about anything as I am about you right now."
He smiled against her mouth, loving that she was entwined around him like an exotic vine. "You're one intense lady, do you realize that? It's like you're on fire."
"It's an illusion, I'm a fraud," she whispered against his lips.
"I don't think so. Neither of us has anything to gain or lose."
"Stop talking." She kissed him with passion that drove him over the brink of control.
They needed to get someplace—anyplace—private. Now.
Not breaking the kiss, he dropped her gently to her feet. Kissing, touching, laughing, they stumbled down the beach toward the resort. A crowd had assembled on the beach in front of the bar where Dave the One Man Band presided. The group of scuba divers played beach volleyball amidst it all. Maneuvering through them would be a challenge, especially with Savannah overly curious about Alyssa.
"Locals come out for Dave," he said when she simply stared at the transformation from tranquil paradise to party central. "Come here." He dragged her into the gardens surrounding Ramon's Village and pressed her back against a tree. "Feeling adventurous?"
"What do you think?" She pushed her hands beneath his shirt.
His mouth ravaged hers while his hands slid beneath her dress and squeezed her ass. One hand moved up the front of her dress, teased her breast beneath the fabric, while the other inched her panties aside. He felt like a man hell bent to touch her skin.
"Not very romantic, I'll make up for it later. I need to have you."
"I'm not complaining. I want this just as badly as you do." She bit his neck while her fingers fumbled with his zipper. Her hands slid inside his waistband before closing around his erection.
God, he'd never wanted anyone like this. It's like he would die without being inside of her. Urgency pulsated through his veins.
He fumbled with the condom he'd stuffed into his back pocket while he kissed her neck and reveled in her hands moving up and down on him. He lifted her up until they were eye level, her feet off the ground and linking behind his waist. Her hair fell across her eyes when she laughed and lifted her hands over her head to grab the tree at her back.
"You're the sexiest woman I've ever met." He pulled one of the straps of her dress down and squeezed the heavy breast he'd been salivating over since seeing her sitting at the bar. His thumb toyed with her nipple.
He thrust inside of her and felt the velvety tightness envelope him. He grabbed her wrists and held them against the trunk of the tree. She ground her tongue into this mouth.
This was sex, animalistic, raw, intense, passionate, no-holding-back sex.
Closing his eyes, he surrendered to the sensations...the palm tree hard against his knees as he ground his hips against hers, her tongue driving him insane, his mouth on her neck, her breasts pressing against his chest, her heels grinding into his ass, 80s rock music blaring from behind them, people laughing only fifty feet away, ocean lapping against the shore, scent of flowers mixing with barbecue, breeze tossing the palms above them, and the feel of her thighs squeezing him tight.
He hadn't let himself go like this in years, maybe ever.
They came together, both moaning into each other's mouths, eyes wide open, connected in the moment. They laughed against each other's lips, neither pulling apart.
She curled her fingers into his hair. "I want more."
"Insatiable...I like it." His teeth gently tugged her lower lip.
"Best. Vacation. Ever." She kissed him with each word.
"On fire, I'm telling you." He dropped her wrists and smoothed his hands over her breasts. "You're like an inferno."
"Only with you." Curls danced in front of her eyes as she pulled him back for another kiss. "I'm not lying. If I'm on fire, it's because you found the fuse."
"That sounds like a bad song lyric. I think you've been exposed to Dave the Gringo's music too long, we'd better get you inside and away from his influence." He kissed her, not wanting to step away from the tree but knowing they were pushing the limits by staying here too long. Something stirred deep in his chest with her words, with the kiss, with this entire scenario.
She laughed against his mouth before dropping her legs from around him and sliding down his chest. He felt like the entire world would know what they'd been doing in the bushes. He laughed to himself as he stuffed her panties in his pocket. He had never had sex against a palm tree before and definitely never within yards of a group of people.  Exhilaration hammered through his heart.
She smoothed hair from his eyes. "You look like you've been having sex on the beach."
"So do you." He turned them into an impromptu dance on the sand, his mouth clinging to hers in a slow kiss, while he held her close.
"You're too good to be true," she whispered. "I can't believe you're real."
"Like you said...it's all an illusion." Regret flashed in her eyes, darkened them in the moonlight, before she looked away.
Maybe it was, but then again maybe it wasn't.

He flattened his palms over her shoulders and wondered at the glimpse of pain he'd seen. Anonymity had its pros...and cons.

FULL THROTTLE Is it love or lust at first sight? #RomanticSuspense #ASMSG

Mmm...first encounters. I love it when characters in both movies and novels meet for the first time. It sets the tone for what's to come. Sometimes there's snap, crackle, sizzle...or maybe there's that slow burn of borderline contempt that you just know is gonna be fun to watch.
Today we're getting a taste of TC Archer's Romantic Suspense novel, Full Throttle. What's your verdict? Love or lust at first sight…or maybe not quite either one?

Blurb
Gail ‘Jimmy’ James is the first female NASCAR mechanic. As if competing in a man’s world isn’t tough enough, her bombshell looks belie her genius.

Rising star NASCAR driver Rex Henderson is stunned to discover his new mechanic is smokin’ hot. Rex intends to own his own crew, but he must end the season number one if he’s to save his family and his dream. No female is getting in his way—especially his gorgeous new mechanic.

Nothing Jimmy knew about Rex Henderson the driver prepared her for Rex Henderson the man. But Jimmy has no time to consider her feelings as Rex wins race after race, despite strange mechanical problems with his car. Whether sabotage or her inexperience, she must stay a step ahead of trouble if she’s to ensure future wins—and safeguard her heart against the handsome, Alabama racecar driver.

Excerpt
Rex pushed open the door to the garage and stepped onto freshly waxed concrete. Despite last year’s sting, his heart raced as it always did at the start of the season when he first laid eyes on the immaculate eight thousand square-foot garage.

A dozen red, five-foot-tall toolboxes stood guard beside the uncluttered workbenches that lined the cinderblock walls. No. 14 sat in the first assembly area on the right, awaiting paint and window netting. Rex slid his gaze along the trunk and over the top of the car. The new Chevy was his ticket to owning a crew next season.

He started forward, then halted when a shapely figure in powder blue coveralls shifted into view. She bent over the engine like a real mechanic. What idiot had left his girlfriend to roam the garage alone? Rex dropped his gaze from the red ponytail to the feminine undercarriage on her fine frame and angled his head to get a better look. He couldn’t see her face, but judging by her body, her boyfriend had taste.
She pressed against the fender and in closer to the engine, straddling the front tire like Daisy Duke at her finest. Ouch! The fabric of the coveralls stretched across the lovely curves of her buttocks, complete with bikini brief panty lines. Rex shook off an unexpected need to hook a finger under those panties.
He crept to the car with panther-like stealth. She hadn’t emerged from the open hood when he leaned a hip against the fender beside her and drawled, “What fool left you alone in my garage, darlin’?”
She stilled, and he ran his gaze the length of her five foot four body, then back to her taut rear end. He laughed softly. “You better come out before you get dirty.” Rex shifted his attention to the sparkplug wire she gripped. He straightened in shocked anger. “What the hell are you doing to my car?”

He seized her arm as she started to straighten and yanked her from under the hood. Her head struck the hood with a thunk. She gasped and Rex released her.

“Ouch!” Her hand flew to the top of her head and vigorously massaged the spot. “Why did you do that?”

“No one screws with my—”

She jerked her head around and Rex’s mouth went dry when his gaze met gorgeous brown eyes tinged with fury.

“That hurt!” She shoved back a lock of hair that had fallen loose from her ponytail and glared at him.
Those were the eyes a cowboy found only in a dream—and in midnight encounters in front of a wood-burning fire.

The sprinkling of pale freckles across her cheeks scrunched up when she wrinkled her nose. Her eyes narrowed. “Here, hotshot.” She shoved the sparkplug wire into his chest. “You put the plug wires on. You know the firing order of your Chevy V-8?”

Rex raised a brow. “As a matter of fact—”

“Let me get you started,” she snapped as she gave her head another vigorous rub, “one, five, two, eight…”

“Look,” Rex retorted, “no one touches—” A hand clamped down on his shoulder and he whirled to find Duff standing behind him.

“I see you’ve met Jimmy James, our new mechanic,” Duff said.

Rex stared at the buxom figure, then faced Duff. “Mechanic? What the hell were you thinking? Even in those coveralls she doesn’t look like a mechanic. She looks like a…like a…hell, like she belongs on Sex in the City.”

“Hey!” she exclaimed.

“Her qualifications are top notch,” Duff interrupted.

“Why didn’t you just paint her on the hood hugging the damn Cozy fabric softener rabbit?” Rex shot back. “That’d get Cozy to renew their sponsorship for the next ten years.” He pictured her, sheet thrown across breasts and hips, one leg sprawled over the rabbit’s belly. “We’ll get nothing done with her around,” he added tightly.

“Winston doesn’t concur.” Duff turned Rex to face Jimmy. “Jimmy, this is your driver, Rex Henderson.”

“I know who he is.” The lock of hair had fallen across her eye again. She jammed it behind an ear. “You ought to keep him in his cage.”

Duff chuckled. Rex gave him a thin-lipped scowl, then leaned against the car and crossed his arms over his chest. Jimmy flicked him a withering glare. His groin pulsed.

He ran his gaze down her body before meeting her fiery brown eyes again. “Only if you’ll be my cage-mate.”

She drew a sharp breath and a camera flash lit the garage behind Rex. He whirled in time to catch a second flash in the eyes. Spots raced across his vision, but he made out the figure straightening from a crouch behind a workbench near the side door. The man lifted the camera to his eye and Rex jammed his eyes shut an instant before the flash penetrated his eyelids.

Rex snapped open his eyes and started for the paparazzo. “I’m going to kick your ass!”

The man pivoted toward the side door.

Rex accelerated to a sprint with Duff close behind.

The photographer bolted through the door. “Sex in the City!” He laughed, adding before the door banged shut behind him, “Cage-mates.”

Rex slammed into the door a second later and flung it open as the photographer dove into the passenger seat of a beat up blue Subaru. Rex hit the asphalt at a sprint as the car leaped into gear, passenger door ajar. Rex picked up speed. The Subaru slowed at the end of the building and Rex thought he had him, but the car rounded the corner and accelerated toward the open gate at the entrance.

Dammit. During the off-season, no guard manned the front gate. Rex cursed again and picked up speed. The paparazzo had probably followed him onto the property. He should have closed the security gate after he entered.

The car leaped over the parking lot speed bump and hit the street, tires squealing as it hung a right and zoomed away. Rex slowed and stopped at the curb. The blue compact had reached the end of the block and took a hard left toward the freeway. Damn. He didn’t get the license number.

Duff halted next to him, breathing hard.

Rex glared at him. “What do you say now, Duff?”

Duff’s gaze locked on the direction the car had taken. “I say all of Dallas will know what Howard Motors has up its sleeve by tomorrow morning, the rest of the world by supper time.”
Inside the garage, an engine starter whined. Rex turned toward the garage and stared as the engine caught, followed by the roar of exhaust when Jimmy pumped the accelerator in short, quick stabs.

Friends with... Partial Benefits by Luke Young #BookReview #giveaway #excerpt #romance

I'm happy to host Author Luke Young and his novel, "Friends with…Partial Benefits" today as part of his book blitz tour with Book Promotions by Literary Nook. He's giving away a $10 Amazon Gift Card and 1 ebook copy of his novel in the rafflecopter below, too. Yay!
But first…my review. I'm happy to give this novel 4 kisses!
I love laughter. I truly believe it's one of the best things we can do for our mental health. "Friends with... Partial Benefits" made me laugh with its wit from the first page.

Jillian is the kind of woman I'd like to have mojitos with sometime and share some serious girl talk. She's likable, funny, realistic, and smart. Her dating scenarios are laugh-out-loud funny…and all too true speaking as someone who's back on the dating scene myself. Luke Young did a great job with  character development and storyline. I'd love to share some of my favorite Jillian scenes but don't want to spoil anyone's fun. She had some quotable moments!

Brian is a hot college kid who's frustrated with women and still trying to figure things out. When he visits Jillian's house with her son for spring break--KABOOM! The relationship that develops between Jillian and Brian seems natural rather than forced for the sake of a story. The author does a great job creating realistic feelings and concerns between the two.

Too much head jumping in weird places and some pacing issues prevent me from giving this a full 5 kisses because they were speed bumps in a fun story. Most of the confusing head jumps were in the beginning of the book, which made it confusing to keep track of who was doing what and when. But, like I've said, the author creates great characters who made me want to keep reading.

Luke Young is truly gifted with humor, character development, and storytelling. Despite the little hiccups, I enjoyed this book and the characters. "Friends with…Partial Benefits" is the first in a series and I will definitely read the other books because the characters are compelling. If you like sexy, fun characters and contemporary romance, I'm confident you'll like this book, too. I'm happy to rate it a solid 4 kisses!

Book Blurb:

Jillian Grayson is a disillusioned divorcée and best-selling romance novelist who suddenly can't write a chapter without her hunky male heartthrob suffering ED, an STD, or even worse. Brian Nash is a tennis-obsessed college senior who's unlucky in love and the roommate and best friend of Jillian's son, Rob. When Rob brings Brian home for Spring Break, and Brian meets the surprisingly young and tennis passionate Jillian, their shared interest quickly develops into an intense mutual attraction. After nearly giving in to their feelings, they hatch a plan, while under the influence (of something more than just the perfect Miami night), to be Friends With Partial Benefits, complete with rules to define the boundaries. Will the lonely pair continue with this distinctive relationship, actually explore their desires, or discover all of it is a really bad idea?

Series description:
Best friends Jillian Grayson and Victoria Wilde could not be more different. Victoria, a young widow who has really gotten on with her life, is wild, carefree, and living life to the fullest while Jillian, recently divorced, is a bestselling romance novelist who is straight-laced, proper, and reserved. That is until Jillian meets Brian Nash, the young, hunky best friend of her college-aged son. These two women provide the vantage point on the hilarious and steamy world of the Friends With… Benefits. Filled with strong, sexy women and fun-loving, real men, the books are at once playful and very sexy; light but large-hearted. If you love sexy contemporary romance with a healthy dose of fun then this series is for you.

Excerpt:
Jillian Grayson sat up in bed, typing away on the keyboard of her laptop computer. She wore a nightshirt that wasn’t all that sexy, but what she was typing was… or at least it started out that way...

Dallas lay in bed, unable to sleep and wondering if Katrina was suffering the same fate—and for the very same reason. Did she want him as much as he wanted her? Katrina was but a few steps away, yet he dare not go to her, for he was a guest, and then there was Katrina’s mother, who was just across the hall. For Dallas, sleep came minutes later, but it would be short- lived, for soon Katrina stood over him, completely nude and pondering how to proceed...

Dallas must have been in a deep sleep, since he didn’t feel it when Katrina peeled the sheet carefully off him, exposing his muscular body, six-pack abs, and sizeable manhood. She quivered when his impressiveness sprang into view. For a long time, she kneeled next to the bed, just studying his body and savoring his scent. Taking his sex into her hand, Katrina worked it until it was rigid while she watched him sleep. When Dallas woke, he looked into her eyes, swallowed hard, and whispered, "I’ve been waiting for you."

Just as fast as his sex expanded, it lost its firmness and flopped against his leg. Katrina looked down at it in disappointment and then moaned in frustration. "What’s wrong?"
Dallas said sheepishly, "Sometimes that happens to me. Sorry. Ever since I cheated on my wife with that whore in the pool, I haven’t been able to—"

Jillian stopped typing and thought she might be heading in the wrong direction with this. How did her ex-husband get into the story? But then again, most men are assholes, she thought.
Picking up the glass of wine from her nightstand, she took a long sip and then replaced it. She highlighted the last paragraph about Dallas’s problem, hit one key, and it was gone. Just like his boner. She laughed out loud.

Jillian wasn’t exactly in the correct frame of mind to write at the moment, especially on this particular subject. She stared straight ahead and wondered about the likelihood of Dallas slipping in the shower, striking his head, and dying instantly. Or maybe an earthquake could strike, and Dallas’s amazingly perfect body would be trapped under a giant beam.

What the hell kind of name was Dallas anyway? She thought she might want to give her character a real name like Stewart but figured no one would believe that a guy named Stewart could give you six consecutive orgasms in one night.

What was she doing, anyway, writing novels about people having amazing sex when she’d never had any? Okay, maybe once or twice twenty years ago, but none since then. She had no right. If people knew that she was the one writing these books, they wouldn’t buy them. She was a fraud.

Jillian picked up her wineglass and took another long drink. She grinned, wiped those unhelpful thoughts from her mind, and started typing again...

Katrina took his sex in her hand and worked it until it was rigid. As she studied it closely, Katrina noticed two red bumps on the underside of his pathetic excuse for a penis. She recoiled in horror

Jillian hit the backspace key to erase everything after Dallas’s "sex" started expanding. Romance novels about erectile dysfunction and STDs weren’t exactly big sellers. She closed the lid on the laptop and tossed it gently onto a pillow at the foot of the bed. She emptied her wineglass with one last sip and turned on the television.

What are you waiting for? Buy it now!
